More pics from Maumee Bay State Park near Toledo

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

On our second day in Toledo, we went over to Maumee Bay State Park. We took a walk along a raised boardwalk and then walked beside the bay.

At the Toledo science museum, Kenton was very interested in the big contraption above, where balls went through a series of "track & tricks" all fueled by gravity. Below, Emery was very interested in this big contraption outside of the museum.

After an exhausting afternoon at the museum we had a popcorn snack back at the hotel.

After supper in our hotel room, we went out for ice cream.

After finishing her own ice cream, Emery really wanted some of Kenton's.

The science museum in Toledo had a great play area. Above Emery is shopping and below she is a doctor or nurse taking care of babies.

Kenton loved this big globe! And he also liked playing the big drums.

Here are more pics from our trip to the Toledo science museum. Above, Keesha and Kenton are doing some fossil rubbings. Below, Emery is playing a keyboard that made different bodily function sounds with each key. She enjoyed this a little too much!

This T-rex head fossil might have been Kenton's favorite thing in the entire museum.

Before school started we took an overnight trip to Toledo. Our first stop was at the science museum. They had a temporary exhibit up on dinosaurs. Of course, Kenton thought this was awesome! Above, he is digging for fossils. Below, the kids are dressing up in dino outfits and playing on a dinosaur nest.

Back in August, Kenton started playing in a fall soccer league. He wasn't a big fan of playing in the hear, but once it cooled off he has really enjoyed it.

At the end of August, Xenia had their annual arts & trains festival. The highlight for the kids is the fact that they have several train-like rides. This is the third year in a row that we have gone to this festival and just like in years past, we all had a great time!

He is such a good big brother!

Kenton likes choosing which way to go when we come to a fork in the path.

These are more pics of one of our hikes at Sara Arnovitz park.

Emery like to carry a stick that is at least twice as tall as her!

Kenton was very fascinated by the way this tree was bending right over the path.

Kenton can be a great helper to Emery when she will let him help her. :-)

These pics are from a trip to Sara Lee Arnovitz Nature Preserve here in Xenia. The kids are carrying the hiking sticks that Granny bought them in Hocking Hills. We are so lucky to have this great hiking trail only a couple of miles from our house!
