On October 14th, the kid's had open house at their preschool. The theme of the night was "Down on the farm". Emery sang some favorites like "Old McDonald", and Kenton's songs included "Green Acres", the theme song from the TV show. The first two pictures show the kids in front of some of their artwork that was displayed in the hallway.

This is Emery's class performing. She is the second one from the left in the front row.

This is Kenton's class performing. He is the third one from the left in the top row (between two boys in cowboy hats).

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Cincinnati Museum Center with Aunt Bobbie. We always have a great time at the museum and we always enjoy getting to spend time with Aunt Bobbie as well!

Earlier this month, we made some Halloween cupcakes. With lots of instruction, I let the kids do as much of the work as I could handle letting them do! :-) They did a great job and the cupcakes were great!

On October 1, Kenton had Farm Day at school. They did all kinds of farm related things, including taking a ride on a tractor-pulled wagon. At the end of the day, the parents were invited to come and watch some farm games. They had a boot-relay, stick horse race (second pic), and a (balloon) pig herding race (third pic).

Emery really likes playing dress-up! And thanks to Nana (and her yard sale shopping skills) she has quite a wardrobe of dress-up clothes. She really likes the fact that she can do it ALL BY HERSELF.

Here are some pics from another soccer game in September. Kenton really enjoyed playing soccer. He said it was a lot more fun when it wasn't hot. For the first game of the season, the temps were up in the 90's and he didn't enjoy it much. He really liked the games where it was cool and/or rainy! Mom and Dad didn't enjoy those games quite as much! :-)

Here are some pictures from the train ride. We all had a great time riding the train that was pulled by Thomas.

Colton is very into Thomas the train right now, so when they came up we went to Day Out with Thomas down in Lebanon, Ohio. There was lots to do before we ever got onto the train.

All three kids liked the bouncy house.

Back in September, Nana, Papaw, Aunt Christy, and Cousin Colton came to visit. We went over to Shawnee Park to burn off some energy.

Kenton played soccer this fall and really enjoyed it. He has one game left and then will have to wait until Spring for his league to start up again. These pics are from a game in September.

Kenton is using an ice pack to cool down after his game. This is his friend Alyssa.

We enjoyed Sugar Creek Metro Park so much that we went back the next week. They have a natural play area that the kids loved. This house of sticks was already there and the kids played in it. The second picture is the house of sticks that we built. I didn't take any pictures of it as we were building it since I was the primary builder. ;-) The other pics are of another one of the great hikes at the park.

Back in September the Kids and I took a hike at Sugar Creek Metro Park in Dayton. There were lots of trails that crisscrossed so it was easy to hike just the amount that you wanted to. For us that was amount was just over a mile. It's hard to believe with all the great hiking trails we've been on that we had never been to this one. We added it to our list of favorite hiking trails in our area. I think there's only about 20 or so on the list! ;-)
