Kenton has talked about nothing but the museum since we went on Saturday, so we decided to go back on Thursday. It's nice having a membership! We spent almost three and half hours there and both the kids were completely exhausted when we left. Kenton still wasn't ready to go, but he was too tired to throw much of a fit. Since he's enjoying it so much, we're going to try to go at least once a month.
Checking out the turtles
Playing archaeologist and digging for dinosaur bones
(We know she needs a haircut!)
Playing vet, examining his possum patient

We ate at Wendy's recently and the kid's meal came with a magnifying glass as the toy. Once Kenton figured out how it worked, he was quite enthralled with it. He's been magnifying everything in sight!

Although she's usually the first one in the house to wake up, Emery is not a morning person.
Kenton did a little finger painting today. You can't really tell in this picture, but he was painting letters and doing a pretty good job of it. His hand-eye coordination has really come a long way recently!

We went to the Boonshoft Museum today and the kids had a great time. We went back in the summer and never got out of the water play area on the first floor, so today we started upstairs with the animals. The kids loved the otters. Unfortunately my camera batteries went dead after about ten pictures, so that's the only area I got pictures of. I really wish I could've snapped one of Emery going down the plastic tube slide, squealing with joy while her hair stood straight out from her head from the static electricity. It was definitely a kodak moment!

We spent about three hours at the museum and had to leave because it was closing time. Kenton had a small "I don't want to go" meltdown but calmed down pretty quickly once we got in the car. He's already begging to go back, so we'll have to pick a day and put it on the calendar to make sure we get back soon.

We got started on some of the painting at the new house on Saturday. Kenton and I tackled the laundry closet. We gave him a small brush and a little tray of paint, and surprisingly he didn't make too much of a mess. He painted on the wall to the left in this picture. Edward finished painting it today, and we are all much happier with the beige than with groovy shade of gold it had been.
Nana & Papaw came up this weekend to give us a hand with the house. Since all the utilities are on over there, they took the air mattress and slept there Saturday night. Kenton stayed and "camped out" with them. We figured we'd get a call about 2:00am asking us to come get him because he refused to go to sleep, but he apparently slept pretty well. He did call about 8:30 this morning whining to come home but I think that was because he wanted to play with a certain toy that was here, not because he missed us.

I have no idea what they were up to here, but I had to grab the camera as soon as I saw them. They're really starting to play together and it thrills me every time I see them having fun together. It also gives me hope that maybe one day they'll be able to entertain themselves for more than 2 or 3 minutes. :~)

" The kiddos entertained themselves for quite a while playing in the cabinets at the new house. We'll be painting the cabinets before we move in, and removing the lovely red vinyl they used as shelf liner.
After a while, Kenton moved out and got his own cabinet because he was "just too big to share with Emy anymore."

Kenton tried making carpet angels, but wasn't too impressed with the results. He said snow angels were more fun.
