The floors in our house are about 2/3 finished, and they look great! We're thrilled with them. They should finish up the work tomorrow or Monday, then we have to get serious about moving in.

I turned the kids loose on the patio tonight with a big bowl of water, some measuring cups, and sponge paintbrushes. To say they had fun would be a serious understatement. They painted, splashed, stomped, squealed, and threw a big fit when it was time to dump out the water and come in for baths. We'll definitely have to do this again!
Edward and Kenton went to a program called "Frog Fun" at a local park today. Em and I stayed home since it conflicted with her nap time. Kenton loves to be outside exploring and had a great time. He also got to see a couple of different types of frogs, which he thought was very cool. I'll have to bring him home some books on frogs tomorrow.
Kenton wrote this while I was was washing dishes yesterday. It says Unlock Wet Suggestions. He was sitting at the table and asking me for words he could write, then saying, "No, I don't like that word" to everything I said. So I told him, "If you don't like my suggestions, you'll have to come up with your own words." He then asked me to help him spell suggestions--he figured out most of it until the "tion" part. By the time I finished the dishes he'd moved on to something else, but this is what I found on the table. He told me the thing between the E and T in wet is a keyhole. He's very interested in keys and locks lately and has taken to wearing an old key around his neck on a string.

Kenton and Emy were playing together this evening and he came to me and announced that they needed capes so they could be super. Emy responded with an enthusiastic "yeah, yeah, yeah" so I got towels and safety pins and made capes. I suggested they go outside and be super before I realized it was raining. However, it was just drizzling and it wasn't cold and they were both very excited about getting to play in the rain, so I let them go out anyway. They were so cute! They had a ball splashing in puddles, riding the big wheel and the little car, and just running around getting wet and muddy. When they came in we stripped off their wet, muddy, grass-covered clothes at the back door and Kenton was also thrilled to get to run around in his undies for a few minutes while we got things ready for their bath.
Emy's looking very grown up and very rotten here

We were going to take the kids to the Cincinnati zoo today, but Kenton asked if we could go to Young's Dairy instead, so Young's it was. He was excited that Emery would be big enough to help him feed the goats this year. The weather was perfect, it wasn't very crowded, and we had a lovely afternoon out. I'm sure we'll make many more trips up there this spring and summer!

Kenton says the darndest things! He just cracks me up. We decided to go out for dinner tonight and this afternoon when Edward asked Kenton where he'd like to eat he said, "Pizza Hut." Edward pointed out that Kenton doesn't like pizza and he responded, "Well, I really like huts!"

This evening I jokingly referred to Edward as a bargain nut and said "daddy's a bargain nut, isn't he, Kenton?" He said, "No, but he would buy nuts if they're a bargain!" The boy appreciates his daddy's bargain-shopping skills! :-)

The picture above was taken when we went to the museum on Monday. Kenton had a great time, but was particularly thrilled with getting snacks from the vending area. He was carefully biting the pretzels into letter shapes, then eating them. He told me, "I love to eat letters!"

The kids have two dozen plastic easter eggs, and they've used them to have about 500 egg hunts since yesterday. We've had both indoor and outdoor hunts, and I'm sure we'll unearth a few well-hidden eggs when we start moving out of this house!

Kenton and I went to a dinosaur class for preschoolers at the Boonshoft museum today. We learned about dinosaurs and then made our own rocks with fossils in them and made a volcano that erupted. Kenton enjoyed it all, but was particularly impressed with the volcano. He's already asking to make one at home!
Our nephew, who lives in northern Indiana, played a lacrosse game in Cincinnati yesterday. It was a lovely day to be outside and while the kids might not have paid much attention to the game, they enjoyed visiting with their cousins. Aunt Suzanne gave them a little lacrosse set and they had to run out in the back yard and try it out as soon as we got home. We've had to implement a strict no lacrosse in the house rule, because they wanted to play inside this morning since it's pretty cold outside today!

Kenton really likes the gutters on our new house
Em checked out the storage shed in the back yard and I think it met with her approval. We're excited that it has electricity--no fumbling around in the dark when we need to find something at night, and we can plug tools in out there.
With a LOT of help from Aunt Bobbie, we got the whole house painted last week--even the garage! This is our very yellow dining room, which is probably my favorite room in the whole house. Once that carpet is gone, it's going to look really great.
The kiddos in the caramel-colored living room. The weird looking spot on the wall is just a reflection from the shiny top of their table. I can't wait till we get rid of that carpet! :-)
