Happy Halloween! We have had a very busy day so far. We wanted to get out of the house and let Mom get some rest. We started the day at McDonals for breakfast.

Next stop was at Macy's where they were giving away $10 gift cards to the first 100 people in the store. I was surprised that we were the only ones there waiting for them to open to get our free gift card.
Next we stopped at Michael's to make a couple of Halloween crafts. We also got nifty Halloween pails with stickers, a coloring sheet, and candy inside.
Then we headed to Meijer and put on the costumes and went trick or treating in the store and got a free picture of the kids in their costumes, as well.
Next we headed to Arby's for lunch. Then it was straight to the YMCA for Kenton's basketball game. Then on to the house where both kids are now napping. Then we'll have supper and it will be time for a cold trick or treating!
I will post pics of the basketball game soon.

With temps in the mid 60's this morning, the kids and I decided to go take a "fall walk" at Siebenthaler Fen. In the second picture above, Kenton is following the path of nail heads. In the third pic, I told Emery to show me her rocks and Kenton decided to show off his muscles! We had a great walk and it may be the last hike we do until Spring.

The kids and I (Keesha was working this evening) went to the Halloween Hoops Fest tonight at WSU. There was trick or treating around the arena from different student organizations. Then we took a seat and I took these pictures while we were waiting for the mens and womens basketball teams to take the court. They shot around and did introductions of the team. The pep band, dance team, and cheerleaders were also there. The kids really enjoyed it, especially the candy!

The other day while I was fixing lunch, the kids were playing quietly in Emery's room. When I walked back to tell them it was time for lunch, I actually gasped at the mess I saw in Emery's room. And let me tell you, with two kids under five, it takes a lot to make me gasp. Kenton, with Emery's help, had decided that I needed to see the ENTIRE contents of Emery's dresser all at one time. So he emptied the contents from the dresser into a pile in the middle of the floor. This photo really does not show the depth of this pile. There are probably about 12 pairs of shoes in this pile, most of which you can't even see. So if you were wondering, and I'm sure you were, exactly what was in Emery's dresser, this picture is for you. Kenton did the hard work (including helping me put everything back into the dresser) and I simply took the picture!

Kenton had his first basketball game last night. It was more like a scrimmage for the game they missed this past Saturday. Our camera battery was running down, so these pictures aren't the best quality. Kenton played a great game and had lots of fun. Thanks to the "help" of his coach, he made 2 baskets. He has another game this coming Saturday. I'll get the batteries charged up and we'll try to take some better photos this weekend.

We don't have any mature trees in our yard that shed their leaves, so we decided to head over to a schoolyard that had lots of leaves and play in them. Kenton and Emery both had a great time! We took tons of photos. I will probably post more later, but these were a few of my favorites.

Yesterday we went out to Sara Arnovitz park and hiked a little and did a lot of playing around! It was a great way to expend some energy!

Saturday evening I took the kids trunk or treating at an assisted living community. They also had some games for the kids and this beautiful backdrop for you to take pictures of the kiddos. The kids had a great time even though it was a little chilly. Don't all lady bugs wear purple hat?!?!?

We had a lazy morning since Keesha and Kenton were both home today. We all stayed in our pajamas for several hours. Since it was raining outside Emery decided to wear some rainboots around the house with her PJ's and one of my baseball caps. This is not a look that everyone can pull off, but she certainly thought she looked fabulous!

Kenton went to a Halloween party last night and was very excited about wearing his costume. Emery did not go to the party, but she did not let that keep her from wearing her costume! She didn't even seem to mind the fact that she was wearing a leopard print shirt underneath the costume.

We've had a couple of nice afternoons here in Southwestern Ohio. Yesterday I took the kids out in the back yard to play for a while. Kenton wanted to take "puppy" so he could also enjoy the outdoors before the cold temps came back.

Emery wanted to show her picture that she colored at the Y school (YMCA child watch) to Gan-Gan (Granny) and Na-Na and Pa-Pa (Nana and Papaw). When I suggested taking a picture, then Kenton also wanted to show off the J that he cut out at school today.

The kids and I picked up Aunt Bobbie Friday morning and went to the Cincinnati Museum Center. We all hung out in the Children's Museum for a while, then after a snack, Kenton and I went to the Museum of Natural History to look for some dinosaurs! Emery and Bobbie went back and had some more fun at the Children's Museum. After we were all worn out, we headed down the street to Frisch's for lunch. We had a great time and enjoyed spending some quality time with Aunt Bobbie!

After having Strep and missing three days of school, Kenton was better and went back to school on Thursday and had his school's open house program Thursday evening. There was a patriotic theme as they sang classics like "This Land is Your Land", "God Bless America", and a few songs I wasn't familiar with. When she saw Kenton "dressed up", Emery demanded that she wear a pretty dress. The group picture is kind of dark, Kenton is in the middle of the top row.

The kids and I went to visit Granny on Thursday and Friday. We also got to visit with Nana and Papaw! On Friday we all had a great lunch at the Whistle Stop. On Thursday night Granny and I took the kids to Gattiland in E-town. Emery and Kenton both had a great time!
