Spring has finally made an appearance. It may not be here to stay, but we have certainly enjoyed the past week of temps up into the 50's and 60's. These pics are from last Sunday when we went on our first walk of the season. It was still cool (around 50 degrees) but we grabbed our jackets and our magnifying glasses and headed out to explore all the things that had been hidden for over a month under the snow.

Kenton has been taking learn-to-skate lessons. He has been on the ice three times and is really enjoying it. He says it is really hard, but he always looks forward to going to the next lesson.

More pictures from our Boonshoft Museum visit last Friday.

Playing dress up at the Boonshoft Museum.

At the Boonshoft Museum there is a section called the Tree House, that feels like a big tree house. There are lots of windows and you can look through binoculars and watch birds and other small creatures. Emery is just now getting the hang of the binoculars.
Last Friday we went over to the Boonshoft Museum for a few hours and had a great time. There were a couple of kids there that Kenton plays basketball with, so he had a great time playing with them.

Colton (with Papaw), Emery and Kenton all had a great time digging for dinosaur bones.

At the dinosaur exhibit they had a "big dig" where kids could dig for dinosaur bones. This was a big hit with our kiddos and pretty much every kid there!

Aunt Christy and Cousin Colton at the museum.

Here are some more pictures of our great visit to the dinosaur display at the museum in Danville.

Here are a few pics from the dinosaur display we went to in Danville, KY. To say that Kenton had a great time would be a big understatement!

Last weekend we went to Stanford and stopped in at the brand new public library. It has only been opened a few weeks. It was really nice and the kids enjoyed visiting another library almost as much as Keesha did!

It snowed most of the day yesterday. We now have around 10 inches of snow on the ground. Schools were canceled yesterday and again today (Wednesday). Kenton is hoping to have school tomorrow because he has all his valentines ready to go. Keesha did not have to go to work yesterday, but today the library is going to open at Noon. The driveway has been shoveled but a couple of snowplows have gone by and blocked the end of our driveway, so I need to try and shovel some of that out of the way this morning. The kids are loving the snow. We spent about an hour out in in yesterday and they had a great time. Emery can't walk in it because it is too deep, so she mostly stays on the driveway and sidewalk that have been shoveled. We live on a cul-de-sac street that has a slight incline, so we did go sledding down the street a few times. Kenton really liked that!

Emy is not one to sit still. She's constantly in motion, even when she's tired. However, she was so exhausted from playing out in the snow this afternoon that after supper she crawled up on the couch beside me, snuggled up, and stayed there watching tv for nearly an hour. In all her 2 1/2 years (plus the time I was pregnant, when she kicked and rolled constantly!), I don't think I've seen her be still for that long. I really enjoyed the chance to snuggle. :) I guess the snow just physically wore her out. We have almost 12" on the ground and she's only about 29" tall, so just walking around was a lot of work for her. She had a great time outside, though, and didn't want to come in even after an hour.

Before she got up on the couch with me, she grabbed her hat, which was laying on the bench in the living room, and tried to put it on her head. When I laughed a little she said, "Mama, this is an inside hat." I agreed that it could be an inside hat and helped her put it on. And she wore it for quite a while.

Last Friday afternoon it started snowing and snowed through Saturday morning. We ended up with about 5 or 6 inches of snow. On Saturday, the kids and I bundled up and went out to play. Emery kept taking her gloves off, so we only stayed out about thirty minutes. The kids made some snow angels and then I pulled them around the yard on their sled. Kenton was disappointed that we were not able to make a snowman. You could make a good snowball but it would not pick up more snow when you tried to roll it to make it bigger. We still have most of that snow on the ground and it is currently snowing. We are expecting another 5 or 6 inches in the next 24 hours!

Yesterday, Kenton came into the kitchen and wanted me to come and see what he had made in his room. I was a little nervous, but grabbed the camera just in case it was a photo op. Sure enough when I got to his room, this is what I had found. He was very proud that he had worked the puzzle out of the frame.

Earlier this week, I let Emery stay in her pajamas most of the morning since she was sick with a cold and ear infection. Kenton was at school and she was playing with his states puzzle. Later I went to pick it up and put the pieces back in and several of the pieces were missing (see photo above). I didn't think much about it because Emery has been known to put things in drawers and in special places all over the house.
A little while later I took her PJs off and out fell a tissue and a puzzle piece. I asked her how they got in there and she said "I put dem dare". At this point her PJs were off and I was putting her clothes on her, and she said "Dares moe" and pointed to PJs over on the floor beside us.
I picked up her PJs and sure enough all these puzzle pieces were in the feet of the pajamas!

On Saturday the kids wanted to play dress-up. Of course they wanted to dress up as a dinosaur and a princess. They had a great time pretending!

These pictures are from the shark petting area. The sharks were relatively small. Emery touched a couple of them, but Kenton couldn't quite bring himself to reach in and touch one! Then we compared our weights to weights of different sharks.
